Safety and Operational Risk - Assistant Business Improvement Manager

Cathay Subsidiary Services consists of several independent departments that provides professional services to Cathay Pacific Airways Limited and its subsidiaries (the ‘Company’), including but not limited to Cathay Cargo Terminal, Cathay Dining, HAS by Cathay and Vogue Laundry Service Limited.

Responsibilities

Process Improvement Expertise

  • Analyse and assess current processes to identify inefficiency and implement optimizations that improve quality, reduce costs, and boost operational efficiency.

  • Utilize six sigma and lean management methodologies to analyse data, identify root cause of problems, and implement effective solutions to drive process improvement.

  • Conduct operating process diagnosis using various research and analytical tools including staff interviews, workshops, process or value stream mapping.

  • Identify key highlights and areas for improvement, providing actionable feedback and recommendations to management.

  • Provide training and mentorship to employees on continuous improvement principles and methodologies with desirable benefits.

  • Conduct regular 5S assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and drive change.

  • Build an improvement culture and implement a continuous improvement mindset in processes and people in the organization.


Stakeholder Engagement

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Provide guidance and support to project teams, facilitating change management efforts.

  • Engage cross-functional employees in the delivery of improvement projects to drive for improvements in efficiency and effectiveness.


Project Management

  • Strong project management skills and foster effective communication among team members, stakeholders, and clients to ensure clarity of project objectives and expectations.

  • Monitor and track key performance indicators to measure the impact of improvement initiatives.

  • Prepare and present progress reports, findings, and recommendations to management.

  • Any ad hoc duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Degree or above in Business Administration, Logistics Management, Industrial Engineering or related disciplines.

  • Minimum 5 years in relevant using continuous improvement tools and activities, preferably in a continuous improvement lead position.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively visualize information to management.

  • Strong influencing and communication skills.

  • Can do attitude, under pressure and able to work under minimum supervision.

  • Good command of both written and spoken Chinese and English.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or above / Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an advantage.

  • Candidate with less experience will be consider as Senior Business Improvement Analyst.
