Safety and Operational Risk - Sustainable Development Specialist
Cathay Subsidiary Services consists of several independent departments that provides professional services to Cathay Pacific Airways Limited and its subsidiaries (the ‘Company’), including but not limited to Cathay Cargo Terminal, Cathay Dining, HAS by Cathay and Vogue Laundry Service Limited.
Responsibilities
Assist to manage, coordinate, and recommend sustainable development projects/ initiatives across all subsidiaries based on numerical evaluation and industry best practices. These projects include but not limit to new or existing projects/ initiatives, process improvement, internal and external engagement, internal and external communications, that aligned with the subsidiaries’ goal and objectives.
Monitor at least one of the subsidiaries’ sustainability performances including but not limit to carbon emission, waste diversion, single-use plastics consumption and water usage.
Assist in the preparation of quarterly sustainability data collection, analysis, and compilation of various reports, presentation, awards and recognition.
Collaborate with internal or external stakeholders to promote sustainability and implement sustainability initiatives in subsidiaries.
Assist to develop, plan, and execute staff engagement activities and internal communications to enhance sustainability awareness.
Support internal and external audits including IATA Environmental Assessment, ISO 14001, carbon audits, and airline sustainability audits.
Conduct research on the latest global and regional sustainability initiatives and trends related to the industries associated with subsidiaries.
Frequent travel between subsidiaries is required.
Perform any ad hoc tasks as required by the Management to ensure flexibility and address emerging needs effectively.
Requirements
A degree holder in Environmental Science/Management, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability Management or any related discipline.
3 years relevant work experience in Environmental or Sustainability areas.
Solid understanding in carbon accounting, sustainability reporting standards, ISO 14001 management system audit, would be an advantage.
Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
Independent, well-organised, proactive team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Capable of working autonomously on tasks while also excelling in a collaborative environment.
Candidate with less experience will be considered a Senior Sustainable Development Officer.
